“Konbit” in Haitian Creole is defined as collective work whose objective is to achieve a shared goal in the face of adversity. It originated as an agricultural term; when a farmer’s land became too extensive and difficult for one person to reap and sow, they would join with neighboring farmers to create a “Konbit” and farm the land together. In the Konbit spirit, each participant contributes to a collective masterpiece of togetherness, cultivating not just the land but also the shared stories and the bonds that sustain their community.
